Heywood Library, Rochdale

Heywood Library, situated in the heart of Rochdale, is a cherished historical landmark with deep cultural and architectural significance. This exquisite heritage building, which dates back to the late 19th century, houses a wealth of knowledge and history. To ensure the preservation of this heritage site, a heritage company was tasked with the restoration of the library's roof and pointing.

Located in the heart of Rochdale, Heywood Library is an ongoing project where we are completing roof and pointing works, to include remove and later re fix Westmoreland slate on new batons and breathable membrane, replace all lead work with Zinc, replace the central glazed section with double glazed safety glass, Install fire rated glazing to ceiling frames and structural works designed by CINTEC.

The restoration of Heywood Library's roof and pointing stands as a testament to the commitment of Aura to heritage preservation. This project exemplifies the delicate balance between historical accuracy, structural restoration, and community significance. The successful outcome of this restoration work ensures that future generations will continue to enjoy this iconic heritage site in Rochdale.
